What are you doing to minimize overhead costs, and maximize the amount of funds going to researchers?
FQXi is a "virtual institute," existing almost entirely online, with no building or excessive administrative structure. Where we can, we outsource tasks to other institutions that can do them better and cheaper: for example, our grants are administered by a Donor Advised Fund, so that we do not have to hire a grant manager.
